Washington, D.C…… (April 22, 2004) When 20,000 screaming fans in the sold out Los Angeles Staples Center recently welcomed Prince to the stage for the launch of his long awaited and perhaps last World Tour – the moment was successful and memorable for International Fashion Designer and Custom Clothier, Willie Scott who had created the stylish, elegant and cutting edge attire distinguishing the Pop sensation’s return to center stage. The crowd loved the music… and the look was a lock! It was a double-take - Scott also designed Prince’s wardrobe when he opened the Grammy Awards with Beyonce’ Knowles.
The legendary but embattled Superstar, Michael Jackson, encouraged by Scott’s versatility and reputation as a designer of many dimensions, summoned Scott from Dallas where he was traveling on business, to LA, ….giving him an hour’s notice and a few days to complete the garments needed for his court appearance. Jackson’s day in court generated front page coverage by media throughout the world - with his suit being one of the most photographed images ever.
It is significant that both Michael Jackson (for the trial of the century?!) and Prince selected Scott as their designer of choice for what could easily be categorized as – the biggest and most significant moments of their lives – re-entering the public eye. It is akin to selecting a crafty captain to lead a seasoned commander and his ship (their careers) to shore…to refit them for battle and assure their triumphant emergence.
Willie Scott’s reputation as The “Go To” Guy in enhancing the personal and professional profiles of some of our decades biggest cultural icons is well-earned and book ends an impressive roster of clients ranging from Minister Louis Farrakhan; childhood friend and client, Isaiah Thomas, President, New York Knicks to NBA Dallas Mavericks star, Antoine Walker – who yearly orders in excess of 80 suits from Scott – wearing a creation only once and thereafter donating it to the non-profit 6’9” club- an organization providing underprivileged African American youth athletes with clothes for special occasions.

Who Is Willie Scott?
He is a designer who consistently impacts the custom clothing industry with his sense of style, integrity and attention to detail.
Willie Scott's flair for classic, yet creative, lines and patterns in custom-made clothing has high-profile executives, star athletes, actors and entertainers calling on his expertise to help them develop and maintain the look of leadership and excellence.
The native Chicagoan first gained exposure through his prowess on the basketball court during his college years at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. Willie dribbled and dunked his way into Bradley's Hall of Fame, but did not allow his basketball talent to overshadow other strengths. His bachelor's degree in business administration from Bradley underscores a refined business acumen that complements his drive to successfully express all of his gifts.
He played professional basketball in Europe for seven years before responding to the urge to expand his focus on and participation in the fashion industry. Willie has always been fashion-conscious, but it was his hands-on work with many of Europe's top designers and tailors that pushed him to give free reign to his tastes and talents. Beyond center court the instinctively low-key, unassuming and witty designer is a man who is deeply rooted in his Christian faith.
